I am a Ph.D. Candidate at NYU. I study China’s television and its relationship with the government, other media, producers, and audiences to create China’s televisual media ecology.

Television Education
examines television’s role in classrooms and how it affects teaching/learning efficacy.
Television Censorship
investigates the interplay between censors, media, and Chinese audiences in China’s television.
Teaching
East Asian Media: On Television (Summer 2021)
explores television’s content and format, circulation and distribution, viewership and censorship to rethink what television is within and beyond East Asia.

I came from Taiwan to NYC for my doctoral studies. My hobby is exploring different television genres, most recently true crime documentaries. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities close to nature and boulder casually. I also explore local restaurants and consider myself a professional bubble tea taster.
